Wed Jan 21st- Join Vail’s Avalanche guru and Mountain rescue specialist, Dale Atkins: Avalanches have been part of mountain travel for as long as people have moved through snowy terrain. Long before skiing became a sport, avalanches were a life-and-death concern for hunters, traders, soldiers, and miners in alpine regions.
