Anders Haugen

 
 

Anders came to America from Norway in 1908. While living in Dillon, Colorado, he set successive ski jumping world records at the Dillon Ski Jump measuring 213 and 214 feet, respectively. He was named to the 1924 U.S. Olympic team and appointed captain of the ski jumping team. He was awarded 4th place in the Special Jumping Competition. 50 years later, a mathematical error was discovered and he was rightfully awarded the bronze medal.
