George Cranmer
In 1935, George was appointed Manager of Parks and Improvement by Mayor Ben Stapleton. During his time in this position, he was responsible for the construction of Red Rocks Amphitheater, the expansion of Stapleton Airport, and was the driving force behind the creation of Winter Park. After Winter Park opened in 1940, George continued to supervise its operations for several years. Cranmer Trail was named as a memorial for this pioneer ski area developer.
