John Fetcher

John studied engineering and business at Harvard University in the 1930s. While working in France, he decided to build a pair of metal skis and received a French patent for the idea. While his skis never worked out, he was a pioneer for the concept. In 1949, he returned to the US and joined the National Ski Hill Engineering Committee. He worked on designs to make jumping hills safer while allowing record breaking performances.
