Louis Dalpes
Louis, the son of an Austrian immigrant, won his first ski jumping event at age 14, when he won a Class-C jumping event in Steamboat. At age 19, he won two victories over the national champion Lars Haugen and earned recognition as Colorado's finest ski jumper of the era. He was selected for the All American Ski Team in 1931. His last official competition was the inauguration of Winter Park's jumping hill in 1945.
