Willy Schaeffler

 
 

Willy was a successful young skier winning the 1932 Bavarian Alpine Championships. Following World War II, he taught skiing technique to US Army Officials in Europe including General George Patton. He later moved to Colorado and became the head coach of the University of Denver Ski Team in 1948 where he won 13 national championships. He served as the US Olympic Ski Coach in 1972 leading his skiers to gold and bronze medals.
