Jamie Duke - Annual Award - Lifetime Achievement 2020

One of the most important annual celebrations of the state’s snow sports industry, the Colorado Snowsports Hall of Fame induction, is on tap for Sunday, August 22 at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater. For the next several weeks leading up to the 2021 Hall of Fame Celebration, the CSM will be highlighting inductees and annual award recipients. Tickets for the event are on sale HERE.

Jamie Duke has continued to make a lasting impact on the growth of the Colorado Snowsports Museum - while also allowing the institution to fulfill its mission to celebrate Colorado snow sports by telling stories that educate and inspire others to seek adventure.

As a longstanding board member for the Colorado Snowsports Museum, Jamie was instrumental in helping with the 2018 renovation of the Museum. He is the son of H. Benjamin Duke Jr., a former Hall of Fame inductee and soldier with the 10th Mountain Division, and is on the board for the Tenth Mountain Division Hut Association.

During World War II, Jamie’s father served with distinctions in the 10th Mountain Division. After service, he moved to Colorado where he was elected to the Board of Directors of Vail Associates in 1966 where he served for nearly 20 years. To honor his relationship with the 10th Mountain Division, he conceptualized and funded the 10th Mountain Room at the Denver Public Library and was one of the founders of the 10th Mountain Division Resource Center. Jamie has continued in his father’s footsteps by continuing to honor and share the story and legacy of the 10th Mountain Division with his involvement in creating the Colorado Snowsports Museum’s new 10th exhibit: “Climb to Glory”.

Through his passion for storytelling, persistence, and vision, he helped transform the Museum into what it is today, continuing its mission and legacy. The newly renovated Colorado Snowsports Museum now has state of the art technology and a less cluttered curation style. The artifact driven displays have helped the CSM share the stories behind these priceless artifacts. Without Jamie's positive leadership as Chairman of the board, you would not be standing in this contemporary, world class museum.
