Storm Klomhaus - Annual Award - Collegiate Skier of the Year 2020

One of the most important annual celebrations of the state’s snow sports industry, the Colorado Snowsports Hall of Fame induction, is on tap for Sunday, August 22 at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater. For the next several weeks leading up to the 2021 Hall of Fame Celebration, the CSM will be highlighting inductees and annual award recipients. Tickets for the event are on sale HERE.

In 2020, Storm, from Boulder, Colorado, finished fifth in the giant slalom and first in the slalom at the CU Invitational. She took sixth in the giant slalom and fourth in the slalom at the Utah Invite.

At the RMISA Championships, she placed second in the giant slalom and slalom. Storm was named RMISA “Skier of the Week” on March 5 for her skiing at the NCAA Regional/RMISA Championships, named Alpine First Team All-RMISA, won the giant slalom at the NCAA Championships, and was first Team All-American in the giant slalom. She also made the USCSCA All-Academic Team.

Storm chose to attend the University of Denver because of the excellent athletic programs, its favorable small class sizes, and its beautiful campus. Her career goals are to either become a doctor or work in the biomedical engineering industry. Her hobbies include bouldering, mountain biking, crossfit, and unicycle.

Awards:
Named Hornbeck Scholar winter quarter 2017-2018.

For 2020-

  • 7 races - 7 top 10 finishes, 4 podiums, & 2 wins (1 win in slalom, 1 win in giant slalom)

  • 1st in NCAA giant slalom

  • 2nd in both slalom and giant slalom in the RMISA Qualifier

  • All American

"My main goals for the 2021-22 season include making the U.S. Olympic team, and being competitive for top 15 finishes in World Cups." says Storm.
