Barney McLean

 
 

By 1950, Barney had won every major ski race in North America, including 9 national championships in ski jumping, downhill, slalom, and alpine combined events. A 3 time Olympian, he was named as captain for the 1948 Olympic games. Among his plethora of recognition and awards, Ski Illustrated Magazine named him Skier of the Year in 1942 and Sports Illustrated Magazine honored him as one of Colorado’s 50 greatest athletes of the 20th century.
