Bob Beverly
Born and raised in Steamboat Spring, Bob attended the University of Denver in 1941. His drive and enthusiasm for skiing spurred DU to adopt skiing as a part of the school’s athletic department. During his career, he helped create ski areas at Grand Mesa and Glenwood Springs. In 1953, as a Chairman for the National Ski Area Committee, he played a key role in obtaining the NCAA’s sanction of skiing as an official sport.
