Klaus Obermeyer
Klaus came to America from Bavaria in 1947. He arrived in Colorado and began teaching at the Aspen Ski School with his friend Friedl Pfeifer. During his 12 years as a ski instructor, he noticed his students were uncomfortable in their quality of clothing so he founded Sport Obermeyer and began creating a new line of ski clothing. His innovations include the down ski parka, high-altitude suntan lotion, nylon windshirts, mirrored sunglasses, and much more.
