Slim Davis
During World War II, Wilfred “Slim” served with the famous 10th Mountain Division. After service, he became an early innovator of ski area design, slope layout, avalanche control, and ski area safety. He was responsible for developing the special use permits that allowed private ski developments on public lands. He was instrumental in the establishment of Arapahoe Basin, Loveland, and Aspen ski areas. In 1973, he became vice-president of the United States Ski Association.
