Through the Lens | The Darkest White with Eric Blehm

from $20.00

Friday, March 28th, Doors 5:15 pm | Program at 6 pm

Join us for a special presentation with award-winning and New York Times Bestselling author Eric Blehm. In his current book, "The Darkest White," Eric returns to his mountain roots and tells the story of snowboarding's original superstar and the sport's first true professional -- Craig Kelly. Often called the “the Michael Jordan of snowboarding”—Craig walked away from the fame and fortune associated with competition to return to the powdery backcountry that originally drew him to his calling, and ultimately took his life. Craig died in an avalanche in British Columbia, Canada, in 2003.

Eric will share the story of Craig Kelly’s life, a heartbreaking but extraordinary and inspiring story. The Colorado Snowsports Museum is an honored host for this program, as we preserve and display some of Craig's boards that will also be highlighted during the talk. These artifacts are graciously on loan from the Kelly Family Collection. The talk will also include some never-before-seen photos.

$20/Museum Members & $25/Non-Members, proceeds benefit the CSM, a nonprofit.

Ticket includes light refreshments, Tincup Whiskey, and a raffle ticket for various giveaways, including snowboards from Burton, Weston, and Season. More raffle tickets can be purchased onsite.

This event was made possible by Backcountry Magazine, with additional support from TINCUP® Mountain Whiskey, Purl Wax, Weston, Burton, Phantom Snow Industries, Evo, and Season Equipment.

Friday, March 28th at 5:15 pm for food, beverages, and mingling. At 6 pm, we will start the program.
