The Lighter Side of Skiing

With Jeff Blumenfeld

Take a run with Jeff Blumenfeld, writer for Skiing History Magazine, down the “Lighter Side of Skiing!” When skiing is depicted in movies, TV or cartoons it usually doesn’t bode well for the sport. Same for the careers of get rich, quick ski product entrepreneurs. Remember bota bags, bongo boards, Astral Tunes, and ski masks? Learn more about bygone mountain gadgets that didn’t make the cut, and Hollywood’s interesting stance on skiing and ski culture.

Jeff Blumenfeld is president and founder, Blumenfeld and Associates, a Boulder-based PR firm. He serves on the board of the International Skiing History Association; and is chairman of the Rocky Mountain chapter of The Explorers Club. He is an adjunct professor at the University of Colorado Boulder, and is author of “Travel With Purpose, A Field Guide to Voluntourism.”
