Gale Spence
A Colorado native, Gale raced for the University of Colorado from 1945 to 1950. For the next 10 years, Gale contributed his time and energy to ski coaching. Before ski coaching was a paid profession, he volunteered his time to coach for the love of the sport. He coached at the Aspen Ski Club and for the 1955 and 1956 RMSA Junior National Teams. With John Oakes, he opened Aspen Sports in 1953.
