Bob Beverly

Class of 2000, Sport Builder
Born in Steamboat Springs, Bob Beverly began skiing early, racing competitively and attending the University of Denver (1941–44), where he helped establish collegiate skiing as a varsity sport and earned one of DU’s first ski letters. He later played a key role in securing NCAA sanctioning of intercollegiate skiing. A pioneer in ski-area development at Grand Mesa and Glenwood Springs, he also advanced ski patrol, youth racing, and safety programs. In 1995, he received the Halstead Memorial Award.
