The institution proudly announces the Annual Award recipients for the year, representing snow sports advocates and some of our state’s greatest athletes. In addition, the Colorado Snowsports Museum and Hall of Fame welcomes the incoming class of inductees announced this summer: Trent Bush, Tim and Tracey Canaday, Jeffrey Grell, Alan Henceroth, and Chris Pappas. The Hall of Fame’s annual honors include the Top of the Hill Award, which recognizes entities that have contributed to the development of skiing in Colorado, the Museum Lifetime Achievement Award, Collegiate Athlete of the Year Awards, Adaptive Athlete of the Year Award, and the Mikaela Shiffrin Colorado Competitor of the Year Award.

Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center
Top of the Hill
Since its founding in 1976, the Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center (BOEC) has been a national leader in making Colorado’s mountains accessible to people of all abilities. Through pioneering adaptive skiing and snowboarding programs, BOEC has empowered thousands of individuals with disabilities and special needs to experience the freedom, confidence, and community found on snow. By combining innovative adaptive equipment with highly trained instructors and volunteers, BOEC helped redefine what was possible in winter sports while setting standards adopted across the industry. Its commitment to inclusion has inspired generations of participants and influenced adaptive recreation programs nationwide. Nearly five decades later, BOEC’s enduring legacy continues to expand access to Colorado’s slopes, proving that adventure belongs to everyone. They are celebrating their 50th anniversary this year.
Ron Mooney
Lifetime Achievement
Well before he began telling stories, Ron was collecting them. From the boardwalks of the Jersey Shore to four universities, including the University of Denver, and three careers. As a sportswriter, Ron went to eight Olympic Games and dozens of World Cups. Ron has spent a lifetime following his curiosity and exploring his passions. He just never imagined that leading tours of Vail and Colorado’s snow sports history would become one of his greatest adventures.
For nearly a decade, Ron’s contributions to the Colorado Snowsports Museum have extended far beyond his role as Tour Guide and Historian. He has transformed the Museum’s tour program, developed innovative educational offerings, led community outreach initiatives, and served as emcee for countless Museum events with his signature enthusiasm and professionalism. His remarkable knowledge, engaging storytelling, and warm personality have helped establish the Museum as a destination for exceptional programming and interpretation. Equally valued by visitors, volunteers, and staff, Ron has become a trusted educator, local advocate, global ambassador, and always-available resource. His generosity, dedication, and gift of time have enriched the Museum and brought Colorado’s snow sports story to life for thousands of people.

Noah Elliott
Adaptive Athlete
Noah capped an extraordinary 2025–2026 season with two medals at the 2026 Paralympic Winter Games in Milano Cortina, winning gold in banked slalom and silver in snowboard cross in the LL1 classification. Earlier in the season, he dominated the World Cup circuit, earning six victories and five additional podium finishes while capturing the overall, banked slalom, and snowboard cross Crystal Globes. The three titles marked Noah’s third consecutive overall Crystal Globe. A three-time Paralympian and three-time World Champion, Noah now has two Paralympic gold medals and nine World Championship medals among his many career accomplishments. In 2025, he also became an ESPY Award winner for Best Athlete with a Disability. Noah resides in Colorado Springs, having previously lived, worked, and trained in Steamboat Springs, continuing to be one of the world’s leading para snowboarders.
Alex Ferreira
Mikaela Shiffrin Colorado Competitor of the Year
Colorado’s Alex Ferreira has spent his career redefining what is possible in halfpipe skiing, combining technical precision with fearless creativity. At the 2026 Winter Olympics, the Aspen native once again demonstrated why he ranks among the sport’s elite, earning an Olympic Gold Medal following his silver in 2018 and his bronze in 2022. He has officially completed the set, adding to an already remarkable international resume that includes three X Games golds (nine in total), four Dew Tour Championships, and four FIS crystal globes. Known for pushing the progression of freestyle skiing while remaining one of its most recognizable personalities, Alex continues to inspire the next generation of athletes. His achievements reflect Colorado’s enduring legacy of producing world-class champions who shaped the future of snow sports.
Louison Accambray
Collegiate Athlete
University of Colorado
French alpine skier Louison Accambray brought international experience to the University of Colorado, where she quickly established herself as one of the Buffs’ standout athletes. A native of La Clusaz, France, Accambray competed for the French National Team before joining CU. In her first collegiate season, she earned two Second-Team All-America honors, three victories, eight top-five finishes, and RMISA Women’s Giant Slalom MVP honors. She followed with a historic sophomore season, reaching the podium in all 15 races she completed, winning six races and earning First-Team All-America honors. In 2026, she also became a World University champion and Academic All-American.
Fabio Allasina
Collegiate Athlete
University of Colorado
Italian alpine skier Fabio Allasina brought an impressive racing résumé to the University of Colorado, arriving in Boulder after competing with the Italian National Team and earning five Italian Junior Championship titles. A native of Frassino, Italy, Allasina entered CU with 14 career victories and 30 podium finishes across junior, FIS, and national-level competition. As a Buff in 2026, he quickly established himself as a force on the collegiate circuit, earning multiple top-five finishes in slalom and giant slalom and helping Colorado contend among the nation’s top programs. His combination of international experience, technical skill, and competitive drive made him one of CU’s standout alpine skiers.
This year, four individuals with a connection to Boulder will be recognized, creating a special evening of celebration. Boulder has long been at the forefront of Colorado’s snow sports industry, serving as a hub for innovation, outdoor culture, and the athletes who have helped shape the state’s snow sports legacy. Individuals include Hall of Fame inductees Trent Bush and Chris Papas, as well as annual award winners Louison Accambray and Fabio Allasina.
